Dr. Bronner’s Magic Soaps enjoys an unusually stable workforce so we don’t want to raise undue expectations about employment opportunities with the company. We believe strongly in honesty, integrity and social responsibility and thus we do not wish to mislead interested persons about frequent turnover of jobs or that we add many jobs each year. New positions are added as we grow or based on strategic needs of our operations only. However, if you wish to explore our current job opportunities, click on the Employment Opportunities link to review the summary postings, or click on the Job Descriptions link to see if you have all required minimum qualifications for any job(s) that interest you. We do accept employment applications and supplemental resumes for all listed job descriptions, not just for those positions currently under recruitment, and we retain all applications for a six (6) month period.

Pay Practices & Employment Benefits
Dr. Bronner’s Magic Soaps strives to maintain highly competitive compensation and benefit plans for all of our valued employees to the extent of the Company’s profitability. Below, we have outlined our pay practices and various benefits enjoyed by our full-time employees.
Pay Practices
Dr. Bronner’s Magic Soaps evaluates each of our jobs annually based on regional data compiled by comparable organizations. While Bronner's goal is to be one of the best paying manufacturing companies of its kind in San Diego County, we must also adapt to changing economic conditions. We also consider Total Compensation (pay + benefits) when comparing to other similar organizations. Therefore, given sufficient profitability, we often adjust wages annually based on changes in the regional cost of living index as well as merit pay opportunities.
Pay Periods
Dr. Bronner’s Magic Soaps has adopted a weekly and monthly pay period plan whereby weekly pay periods run from the each Wednesday through the next Tuesday with paydays occurring on the following Friday. For many exempt positions, the pay period if from the first to the end of each month and paid on the last weekly payday of the month.
Paid Holidays
The following are the annual holidays recognized by DBMS. Full-time employees are eligible for holiday pay following their initial Introductory Period. Other details of holiday pay are included in the Company’s orientation and Employee Handbook.

Medical, Life and Dental Plans
Excluding temporary employees, all other employees at Dr. Bronner’s Magic Soaps who are regularly scheduled to work 24 or more hours per week are eligible to enroll in the Company’s medical, life, long term disability and dental plans on the first of the month following successful completion of their initial Introductory Period. Dr. Bronner's Magic Soaps currently pays the entire premium for each employee’s choice of medical and dental plan coverage level, and pays the entire premium for an individual $25,000 term life insurance and long term disability policies. Medical benefits provide comprehensive medical, health, emergency, and prescription drug servicers. Our dental plan provides comprehensive services with an annual maximum benefit with some services requiring a co-pay by the employee.
Health Reimbursement Account
Dr. Bronner’s Magic Soaps currently provides employees covered by our medial plan a self-insured Health Reimbursement Account (HRA) plan to safeguard financial hardships by eligible employees who experience a costly medical condition in light of our high deductible health plan. Under the combined medical & HRA plans, DBMS pays up to a maximum pre-determined amount that goes toward the employee’s annual deductible and co-insurance claims costs each plan year. Doing so helps each employee pay for such medically related needs as doctor office visits, co-pay cost for lab or radiology work, medical devises, prescription medication, and the like. No contributions to the HRA are required by employees although employees may be required to pay some amounts toward co-pays.
Annual Bonus
Dr. Bronner’s Magic Soaps has a time-honored philosophy of sharing the rewards of the work necessary to produce profits to be used for its workers and philanthropic giving. To that end, DBMS is one of very few companies that provides each employee with an annual bonus, but here at DBMS we target our annual bonus at 25% of base pay, the amount of which is both discretionary as determined by profits and individual performance. Bonus checks are normally distributed the first Friday each December at the annual holiday meeting which is followed by a company paid dinner for immediate family members to celebrate Christmas festivities at a local restaurant.
Retirement Savings
Dr. Bronner’s Magic Soaps has adopted a Profit Sharing Plan (PSP) as the retirement savings method used by the Company for full time employees on the first January or July following successful completion of their initial 12-months of employment consisting of 1,000+ worked hours. The Company makes a discretionary (based on annual profitability) fixed contribution to each eligible employee’s account. The PSP does not require nor allow employee contributions to the Plan.
All eligible employees receive benefit plan information during their introductory period which includes Summary Plan Descriptions defining the benefits of each plan including exclusion and limitations. Dr. Bronner’s Magic Soaps reserves the right to change, suspend or eliminate any benefit at its sole discretion. In such case, all affected employees would be notified in advance.

Thank you for your interest in employment with Dr. Bronner’s Magic Soaps. Our company takes special pride in the certified organic and Fair Trade products we prepare and deliver to domestic and global markets, and in our dedicated staff who work hard to bring a new meaning to personal care products. As such, we have found that the nature of our work is not for everyone since it takes a special kind of caring dedication, skills and abilities to deliver the highly orchestrated work required each and every day—as well as the spirit of going above and beyond expectations. Too, we often receive many more applications for employment than available opportunities, meaning we are not able to interview all interested applicants. When interviews and other pre-employment processes are arranged, we expect all such applicants to comply with established schedules.
For your convenience, you are invited to complete our interactive Employment Application form. After completing this form in all required details, merely click on the Submit button to have it sent to our Human Resources department. You may also wish to print a copy for your records prior to submitting a completed form. If you wish to supplement your application with a personal resume and related materials, you may do so by mailing a copy to our Human Resources department, PO Box, 28, Escondido, CA 92033. DBMS reviews, stores and retains all applications for a six (6) month period. If you have not been contacted by us within that period, you may wish to submit a new application. Please make sure you have the latest version of Adobe Reader (free software) BEFORE you download the application. You can download Adobe Reader by clicking here.

If you are selected to participate in an interview, please be on time and prepared to respond to a variety of questions aimed at assessing numerous aspects of your experience, training, skills, knowledge, decision making, adaptation and other elements of job preparation asked by our trained interviewers. If you are successful at receiving a contingent employment offer, you will then be scheduled for a background check and other pre-employment requirements to be competed before final employment can be confirmed. Once confirmed, new hires are required to attend a comprehensive orientation program to enhance each person’s opportunity for a successful adaptation to their new job, work location, our organization, expectations and working conditions. Thereafter, each newly hired employee serves a preliminary 90-day Introductory Period during which they will receive more specific and focused training, guidance, support, observation and evaluation. For full-time (24+ regular scheduled hours per week) employees, most of the Company’s benefit plans become available upon successful completion of the Introductory Period.
